Academic Advisors
All ECE faculty are advisors in their subject specialties. In addition, the department has an
Undergraduate Advisor to assist
students with their class scheduling, and an Honors Advisor, to help honors students with their honors course requirements. The
department chair administers departmental scholarships.
Scheduling Classes
Students normally schedule their classes online. A Requirements Checklist (EE, CpE) is maintained by the department and by the student,
showing the status of completion of the program of study. The department provides the five year course schedule (EE, CpE) and senior
electives list (EE, CpE) for the electrical engineering and computer engineering programs. The standard schedule enables the full time
student to finish either program in five years with a full year of engineering co-op experience. A prerequisite/corequisite chart (EE, CpE)
is provided as an aide to developing custom schedules.
The Undergraduate Advisor
Dr. Welch answers curriculum questions and develops custom schedules for those
not following the standard schedule. He approves course changes and assists the
faculty and Advisory Board in ABET program evaluations and curriculum change
proposals.
Dr. Welch also advises prospective students and parents about curriculum and
career matters related to electrical and computer engineering. |
The Honors Advisor
Dr. Veillette assists honors students in the selection of distribution courses and in their honors projects. He approves course changes and advises honors students on scheduling. Dr Veillette also chairs the faculty committee which administers departmental graduate programs. |
